March 2016 Monthly Event

Friday March 25, 2016 @ 18:00 - 22:00

Free – $250
AFCEA Tokyo (東京) - March 2016 Monthly Event

Come join the AFCEA Tokyo family for our March 2016 monthly event on Friday March 25th for a very timely event. Mr. Lance Gatling will be presenting on a topic near and dear to the heart of Japan considering this year marks the fifth anniversary of the Great Tohoku Earthquake and Disaster. Mr. Gatling will be discussing Fukushima’s Nuclear Meltdown – 5 years after 3/11 – What Really Happened?. Here is an overview:

“Fukushima’s nuclear plant disaster on 3/11 set the world on edge. Hundreds of thousands evacuated, governments panicked, and people actually wondered if Tokyo had to be evacuated. This discussion will look at the technology of the plants, what happened, how much danger there was, if any remains, and what the clean up entails. The discussion will examine the technology, the incident, and the past danger in plain, understandable language.”

For those unfamiliar with our featured speaker, Mr. Lance Gatling is the President of Nexial Research, an aerospace and defense consulting and brokerage firm. Lance has given many lectures on the topic of Fukushima’s nuclear incident to civic groups, government officials, businesses, and schools; in several instances his plain explanations helped global firms determine whether to abandon Japan or to continue operations. A graduate of West Point, he is a retired US Army Reserve Lieutenant Colonel Foreign Area Officer and has degrees in science, public administration, and national security affairs.

The March Monthly Event will be at the usual location – The New Sanno – and will feature our standard spread of free hors d’oeuvres, finger food, and beverages of your choice.

This event, like all our monthly events, are FREE for everyone to attend.

[alert title=”NOTICE: ” type=”error”]The New Sanno is a U.S. military complex, and requires an official government issued identification card with picture (ie. DoD CAC, DoD Dependent ID, DoD Retired ID, Passport, Alien Registration Card, etc. ) for entry.[/alert]
