Free – $500

Join the AFCEA Tokyo (東京) family on Friday May 26 at The New Sanno Hotel for some Pre-Summer festivities, with free hors d’oeuvres, and beverages of your choice.

We’re honored and delighted to have Mr. Karsten Klein, PhD., presenting a case study this month: Business Continuity Planning – A case study from the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami.

This program focuses on Business Continuity Planning (BCP), testing, maintenance and execution. The combination of different factors that influence the outcome a BCP execution are explained via a real life case study from the time shortly after the March 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami. The lessons learned of this BCP case study are relevant to other threats such as cyber attacks, terrorism, fire damage, breakdown of facilities, natural disasters, etc. that surround and affect our business environment.

Karsten Klein has over 14 years expertise in financial risk management, operations and systems, with extensive leadership experience. Prior to working in the financial service industry, he was working in technology research and development. Karsten received his PhD in electronic engineering from the University of Cambridge. Outside of work he enjoys running and skiing.

The May Monthly Event will be at the usual location – The New Sanno – and will feature our standard spread of free hors d’oeuvres, finger food, and beverages of your choice.

This event, like all our monthly events, is FREE for everyone to attend.
