October 2016 Monthly Event

Friday October 28, 2016 @ 18:00 - 21:00

Free - $500
October 2016 Monthly Event

Join the AFCEA Tokyo (東京) family on Friday October 28 at The New Sanno Hotel for some early autumn festivities, with free hors d’oeuvres, and beverages of your choice.

This month we are pleased to be hosting something a little different. Our very own Mr. Richard Chuckrey will be presenting a unique and interesting topic: More than a Newspaper: The Secure Technology Behind Stars and Stripes Multimedia. Rich will be discussing how Stars and Stripes leverages technology to not only produce a newspaper in the modern, internet-based age, but also how the organization leverages security to ensure their network remains free from potential attacks from US and Japanese adversaries. In addition, Rich will discuss the difficult transition Stars & Stripes has had to endure, moving from the old-guard, paper-based newspaper, to a more online-based presence, and the tough monetization challenges. This will be one event you will not want to miss!

The October Monthly Event will be at the usual location – The New Sanno – and will feature our standard spread of free hors d’oeuvres, finger food, and beverages of your choice.

This event, like all our monthly events, is FREE for everyone to attend.

NOTICE: The New Sanno is a U.S. military complex, and requires an official government issued identification card with picture (ie. DoD CAC, DoD Dependent ID, DoD Retired ID, Passport, Alien Registration Card, etc. ) for entry.
