TechNet Tokyo 2020 Cancellation News!

AFCEA 東京 TOKYO prides itself on outstanding leadership and education through the various STEM events we run throughout the year, culminating with TechNet Tokyo – our largest annual conference. With a heavy heart, due to the unprecedented nature of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) we believe the prudent course of action is to cancel TechNet Tokyo 2020.

We take the safety – both physical and medical – of our attendees very seriously, and do not want to put anyone in harms way. The potential for COVID-19 infection is real. Since the novel coronavirus continues to infect people worldwide, many who travel, AFCEA 東京 TOKYO has received a number of inquiries on our protocol for dealing with the epidemic. Conducting a large international event during this time of crisis does not feel like a judicious decision.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and look forward to greeting you next year with an even larger TechNet.

In the coming days, every vendor, sponsor, and attendee who has paid for a TechNet 2020 ticket will be refunded in full. If you do not receive a refund by Friday March 6, 2020, please contact us with your purchase details.

As the risk of coronavirus subsides, we are looking to hold more focused monthly seminars in Tokyo throughout 2020. In addition, we will be working with Camp Zama, Yokosuka Naval Base, and Yokota Air Base to develop events specifically targeting those personnel on those bases; EXCOM is already working this effort.

We will inform you at the earliest possible time when we are able to provide a safe place for you to contribute, learn, and network at a major event like TechNet. On behalf of the entire AFCEA 東京 TOKYO team, we appreciate your understanding but look forward to seeing each and every one of you at our monthly seminars – the next which is Friday March 13 – and TechNet Tokyo 2021.

For more information on coronavirus, we recommend checking the CDC web site.
